The Emirates offer guaranteed sun, excellent hotels and plenty to do beyond the beach. Dubai is for skyscrapers, shopping and theme parks; Abu Dhabi for its grand mosque, museums and calmer beaches.
Best time to go
October to April is the best season, with warm sea and comfortable days. Summer is very hot, but hotel prices are lower and life goes on in air-conditioned malls and parks.
