Maldives
Coral atolls, turquoise lagoons and overwater villas. Made for a honeymoon, for diving, or simply for a week of doing nothing at all.
Why go
The Maldives are made for doing very little in a very beautiful place: white sand, turquoise lagoons and villas over the water. Each resort has its own island, so it is quiet, private and ideal for a honeymoon or a diving holiday.
Best time to go
The dry season from November to April brings calm sea and the most sunshine. From May to October there are more showers, but prices are lower and the water stays warm.

Good to know
- Resorts set their prices in US dollars; the local currency is the rufiyaa.
- You reach your resort by speedboat or seaplane, and the transfer is part of the price.
- On local islands, dress modestly; alcohol is served only at resorts.
